The question I want to hear is this "If we vote to have witnesses, and the defense calls the whistleblower, Schiff, and members of his staff, will they go to the courts to get out of testifying?" If so, they will be, by their own logic, obstructing the impeachment.

And if the impeachment trial ends without critical docs being produced and witnesses being called, if and when the suppressed information inevitably comes out later the egg is going to be all over the GOP

And yet we *still* have to hear from every firsthand Trump Administration witness whose testimony has been blocked thus far, including Bolton (though at least he may ultimately be called), not to mention Trump himself (it's insane he's not going under oath) and god knows what else is contained in the hidden documents.

In preparing to acquit Trump after basically a sham trial, you Republicans are lighting a fuse under yourselves and creating a lot of unresolved risk. As always, it’s not the crime, it’s the cover-up.

What the defense has done is shown how a lack of due process and a rushed impeachment spoiled the case. The Senators all know it is a sham trial based on electioneering and base-saving; not one vote has been changed over the past week.

If you are ever put on trial, and your attorney asks you to testify, whether you are innocent or not, fire the bum. Just as in talking to the police without an attorney present, nothing good can come from it.

Sorry to burst your hysterical fantasy, but the Senate will not be calling more witnesses and they will vote in a bi-partisan fashion to acquit this weekend. This will happen.
And as more elected Democrats examine the results, the fallout and the blowback from this sham impeachment, as a matter of survival they'll also reassess their party affiliation.
You will see more Democrat party defections this year and a Republican tsunami in November.
