All these Republican threats of impeaching the next Democratic President “on Day 1” (implying a highly unusual split Democratic President/GOP House outcome), or Day 1000, or whatever really don’t scare me at all.

I don’t think Republicans realize either: (1) Just how bad Ukrainegate was, even compared to Russiagate, or (2) Just how far Trump had to push Nancy Pelosi to go out on a limb like this.

Recall that Pelosi killed the left-wing talk of impeaching G.W. Bush last decade, as well as the talk of impeaching Trump throughout all of the Mueller probe, but Ukrainegate was a bridge too far.

Democrats would have been chumps for taking this shit lying down, and I’m glad they didn’t.

The events of the past year have made me a proud Democrat for the first time in my life.

Trump is coasting for a partisan acquittal without a meaningful trial, but the GOP are lighting a fuse underneath themselves. As always, it’s not the crime, it’s the cover-up.
