Which is why the House should have gone though the legal process to get the evidence and complete the investigation, rather than passing it off to the Senate and then demanding the other party complete the impeachment inquiry.

It's not difficult to "complete the impeachment inquiry." Just release the docs, stop blocking the top aides and get Trump's butt in a chair to testify. Anyone could do this.

Actually, you'd need to go though the legal process to get a court order for any of that without Trump's cooperation. And the House has the sole power of impeachment, so you shouldn't demand the Senate complete the impeachment inquiry for the House.

Most of you've complaints on this are giving the democrats a pass for this obvious bungling, shifting the blame to only the republicans, and demanding Trump's constitutional rights be shredded while repeating taking points like a parrot.

The notion that this will be anything like a fair impeachment trial without testimony of any of his top aides, let alone Trump himself is absurd. The Constitution delegates the "sole power of impeachment" (i.e. to bring the impeachment charges) to the House, and the trial to the Senate. The Senate cannot foist its responsibility to conduct a fair trial upon the House, just as the House cannot force the Senate to do so (as we saw with Pelosi's fruitless attempts to get McConnell to commit to specific trial procedures).

Trump's own intransigence with the most massive claims of executive privilege in U.S. History is a problem that either house of Congress should not acquiesce in. The House made its position on this perfectly clear by passing Article II -- Obstruction of Congress as a separate impeachment count. The Senate by the looks of it is about to show it doesn't care.

LOL,. You confirmed what as I already said, you're forcing the House's blame for not completing the investigation by going though the legal process to get a court order to compel the White House to the over the evidence. on to the Senate and demanding that they go though the process to complete the Houses investigation and spewing talking points to cover it.

Claiming executive privilege in an overly broad manner basically standard procedure with investigations of both Clinton and Obama, but the difference here is that the House decided that they have the authority to interpreter the law and cut the court's constitutional role out and are using their own lack of proper action as an excuse not to have done their jobs.
