According to the article cited by the link, the Wall Street Journal says that those making over $100K (which in places like Taxifornia, does place you too far above the so called lower class) earn 60% of the income in the US, and pay 95.2% of the income taxes.
As Quid Pro Joe would say, "look", let's just have an honest conversation about this. To do that, the party of more taxes than the other party of taxes (Dems and Pubs, respectively, for those of you following along) needs to come clean and admit they want the rich to lose (ahem, pay...) most of their income as taxes. Once that's out in the open, then the adults can decide just how much of what the rich earn is fair for them to pay.
The fact that people like Sanders and Warren won't admit they'll have to increase taxes on the middle class is what I find the most disingenuous. "Look", I get it. They want the votes, and nobody gets elected by promising to raise taxes on the middle class. Socialists like Bernie and Liz will have to wait until they're in office (which will be never, if we're all lucky) and then force the middle class to bend over.
