“Failed predictions” on climate are not the nail in the coffin that skeptics believe them to be.

“Failed predictions” on climate are not the nail in the coffin that skeptics believe them to be. | A cartoon of incorrect* predictions allegedly made by climate scientists (without attribution) that has been doing the rounds in global warming denier circles. (*To my knowledge, the 2012 prediction is not even incorrect.); Assuming all these predictions were actually made: all they prove is that 100% of climate scientists have not gotten 100% of specific predictions correct 100% of the time. Specific predictions of what exact effects climate change will cause in a system as large and complex as the earth are very difficult to make and not really the point. The overall point is this: the world is steadily warming as a result of the accumulation of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. None of these failed predictions cast any doubt on that. | image tagged in global warming, climate change, climate, science, prediction, skeptical | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

"Assuming all these predictions were actually made: all they prove is that 100% of climate scientists have not gotten 100% of specific predictions correct 100% of the time"

Assuming they all were made then 100% of Climate Change predictions quoted have been wrong.

There you go succinctly stated as scientific reporting should be able to be if any theory is verifiable, repeatable and proven.

That's the trouble in believing they have it correct now and why you need a compromise. Too many wont believe now even if you could prove it.

And for your 2012 Hurricane prediction asterix. How hard can it be to prove it right or wrong? I read such events and tropical storms have reduced in frequency in most parts of the world but do not recall on severity. But the claim is for frequency.
