But I have stepped in crap before and came out smelling like roses.
Several years ago now I was having a bad Sunday at work as my extruder kept shutting itself off and the engineer was going to be late to fix it. I don't handle waiting around doing nothing well and spent the day cleaning. I especially washed all the windows as I hate dirty windows.
Now the engineer came in, pushed one button and fixed my line and left. I was not feeling too great after that, but got my line into production. Now we worked 7am to 7pm and it was after 5pm on a Sunday when I looked over from my line and saw a bunch of faces looking in at me through the newly cleaned windows.
Now I worked with a bunch of great guys and we had a bad habit of flipping each other off all the time. I was about to flip the double bird at the faces in the windows, but I realized several were women and I was able to change the flip to a wave. They waved back and after a minute they left. I was confused, but I was also close to my two days off and let it go.
Now when I came back to work, I told my boss about it. About how glad I was I had cleaned the windows so I could actually see the faces and not flip them off. I went back to my line and thought nothing more of it until the phone rang. My boss wanted me to come back up to his office.
I get there and one of the owners is there and smiling. "Thanks for not flipping my family off." he said and shook my hand.
