I guess Fascism can be boiled down to placing blind trust and total power in one leader.
Couple examples: I don’t think the majority of Germans or Italians really fully thought through or approved of everything Hitler and Mussolini were saying necessarily. They just wanted a strong, charismatic leader who would make their downtrodden (or perceived-as downtrodden) countries great again.
All that stuff about the Jews, Gypsies, and Slavs? Well, I’m sure Hitler didn’t really mean it, right? Take his words seriously, not literally.
