The legislation is anything but reasonable. It bans almost everything.

It doesn't ban "almost everything." It's a mix of universal background checks, red-flag laws, and assault weapon bans. And it has a grandfather clause for those who already own assault rifles.

Not banned: hunting rifles, shotguns, handguns. This is all consistent with what is allowed under current 2nd Amendment jurisprudence.

One of the critical parts of the law bans any firearm that *CAN* accept a magazine with a capacity of greater than 10 rounds. That's virtually any gun that can accept a magazine. Not that the mag capacity is more than 10, that the gun can accept a magazine that can contain more than 10.

Any firearm with a second handgrip (hunting rifles and shotguns have a foregrip). Handguns with any kind of barrel shroud - semi-auto handgun slides shroud the barrel, and most revolvers shroud the actual barrel.

Then there are really vague portions that allow interpretation.

thanks for jumping in, the laws are often vague enough to be approved and also vague enough to allow the law to be implemented differently than it was sold.
