That is not what it says, plus there are no spelling mistakes in the actual constitution.

Impeachment is an indictment and at the sole discretion of the House. Where things get tricky is that Impeachment is shown as a process not just a vote, so Impeachment really hasn't been done until the articles are sent to the Senate and the impeachment managers chosen. Then, it is the Senate that holds the trial and decides if the President should be removed from office. He would still be considered Impeached...which is really just a word saying he was indicted by the House. It is hardly fair, but that is the way it goes. I think this is all the House Democrats ever wanted. A RED stamp of Impeachment on his forehead. I don't think it will be as impactful as they think, though. Once people realize that the label doesn't mean squat. One thing I see that is bothersome is that it says on your illustration that the Judiciary committee should over see it, but the Democrats used the Intel committee for the first part of it. I also wonder if somewhere down the road, lets say if Trump did get his trial and he could prove that it was all a premeditated coup, if the Impeachment could be made Null and void.

Good critique of the situation. With so little historical example it will be an interesting situation to unfold if they actually want to take to trial. A trial which of course will produce witnesses, documents and general counter claims and proofs which are contrary to the facts as presented in the partisan impeachment vote which has occured.

“Spelling mistake?” Lol “chuse” was an alternate spelling common at the time the Constitution was drafted. https://www.usconstitution.net/constmiss.html

The House has the “sole power of Impeachment.” The Senate’s duty is to hold the impeachment trial. What that means as a practical matter is that it is the House’s job is to bring the charges of impeachment. (To impeach means to “charge” with misconduct.) The Senate cannot simply tack on new Articles of Impeachment without first going through the House.

lol, You are not understanding. The next step in the process of impeachment is the house puts forward the articles of impeachment to the Senate, the Senate has control from thereafter they receive the impeachment application. The Senate has the sole power to decide if an impeachment sinks or floats.

“Impeachment” is analogous to an indictment in criminal law. It is just a statement of the charges, nothing more. The trial comes later, in the Senate.

The problem is that our colloquial use of the word “impeachment” differs from its technical definition. The Senate cannot technically “decide whether an impeachment sinks or floats,” because the impeachment has already happened. The Senate does not get to cancel the charges even if they decide not guilty.

Trump will go down in history as an impeached President, whether or not this action ultimately results in his removal. Just like Presidents Clinton and Johnson, both of whom were impeached and then acquitted.

You are incorrect, Sir! I don't care how you paint it, he is not impeached without a trial. You should know this is more about distraction and obstruction by the left, they have no legitimate reason or proof to put forward these articles of impeachment. But, hey, keep trying.

I don’t disagree with anything that chart says. But as a technical matter the House has the sole power of Impeachment (meaning “to charge” only) which makes your statement in the OP meme wrong.

As of the House vote ratifying the Articles of Impeachment taken a few days ago, Trump has been impeached.

You can't agree and disagree with the steps of impeachment.
Can I ask you, are you a Joe Biden supporter?

I agree with the “steps of impeachment” (colloquially), but you seem to be missing the point that Trump has been “impeached“ already and nothing that happens in the Senate trial going forward will change that historical fact.

Impeachment does not mean removal. Impeachment just means a formal statement of Charges against the President. The House has the “sole power” to do that.

Not sure what being a Biden supporter has to do with any of this, but for the record I am not.

Not without a trial! You know that is one of the steps and I'm sure you know what the purpose of a trial is.
