Let's have all six of them testify, and when their testimony results in a complete exoneration of all charges and none of them perjure themselves in the process, then we can all go home and forget about this terrible impeachment mistake and re-elect Trump in a landslide in 2020.

Why did they need to testify? The Congress had their chance. The house, instead of flying through the process, could have subpoenaed witnesses through court orders like the Supreme Court said. They had their chance and they blew it. The Senate only has the power to try impeachment. They do not have the power to bring new charges against the president. That is unconstitutional. The House is the body who does the indictment process. They said that they had an open and shut case. If the evidence is so overwhelming they should know that there are principled Christian conservatives who would vote to impeach this president. They should send forth the articles of impeachment over to the Senate. Then if they want to have another investigation with more witnesses in the house they can do so.

The House of Representatives has the absolute right to issue its own subpoenas. The Executive Branch has defied so many of them at this point that there's ample justification for Congress to tack it on as a second impeachment count for Obstruction of Congress. The Constitution doesn't impose any requirement that Congress consult with the Judicial Branch before proceeding with impeachment.

Conservative hyperventilating over a few days' "delay" aside, I see no reason to believe Pelosi isn't going to transmit the articles of impeachment to the Senate in the very near future.

It's true that the house has power of subpoena but being that is not a court of law the president has the right to ignore them, just like Abraham Lincoln did and Andrew Jackson.
