Doesn't make sense. Conservatives are against any changes, including new ideas. They're against new green deal, say universal health is too radical, and scoff at gender equality pay, etc. Conservatives don't like stepping out their comfort zone.

Wrong, conservatives distrust the dems and consider who these ideas help and hurt, who pays and ask will it work before accepting the idea. Also remember, few of these "new ideas" are new, many have been tried and failed, others are pushed in a bait and switch scam (passed but not funded) or worse passed in one house switched 180 in the other and money goes out but nothing changes. The best way to tell if an idea will work is both sides support it. They are all about looking good the next election cycle and a great idea goes through. OTH if it has problems or only makes a single side look good it will rarely pass.

You say I'm wrong and yet you admit conservatives distrust the democrats. I see every resistance along the way. For example, gun control. Conservatives upkeep old American values, doing everything to keep their 2nd amendment and personal liberties, right? Then no new ideas. They feel assaulted by Democrats at every angle because of their established beliefs, often religious and patriotism.

And it's impossible to reach an agreement when there are far left and right. Changes don't happen because of the duopoly. We need more parties involved and heard.

Change just to change is wrong, unless new ideas have merit they should not be considered. No matter where you live in the USA there is someone homeless just a few miles from you. If I told you I had a great new idea to help them and gave them your address, told them to take what they needed and stay as long as they wanted, to me that would be a great idea. It might not seem that way to you, you would distrust my motivation, ask why I didn't take them in or offer to pay for a hotel. If by new ideas only one sides pays the idea is not new it is an veiled attack.

Since you mentioned old values and rights like the 2nd amendment, before any change can even be considered you will have to find something better. As of now that doesn't exist. America's problem with borders is because people want what we have, our firearms keep them and our own government in check. I have seen what happens when only one side has guns, you do not want to see that even if you are on the winning side.

I disagree, Trumps team (wasn't all him) has accomplished more in three years in office than Bernie (and team) has in his life time. If you are happy with the world as it sets today and want no change then vote for Bernie and that is what you get, more of the same. I want change so Trump is my guy.

i know obama voted for those things, which is why i didn't vote for him (ok, the real reason i didn't vote for obama was because i wasn't old enough to vote)

secondly, if obama's the one responsible for the child cages at the border, then why hasn't trump ended it yet? (i do think obama's responsible, but i think trump should hold some accountability when it comes to ending obama-era policies)

The cage store broke and was busted as a myth a while back, the cages were screens, more room dividers than cages, some could be walked around, not every station is set up the same. The real victims were ICE employees, they were made out to be monsters by the media. Reality is they are hard working professionals and have taken down some serious criminals that pray on citizens and non citizens.

Trump's biggest achievement in my eyes was showing the world that both sides of congress were self serving backstabbers out for personal gain over country. Many suspected it but there is no doubt now. There are lists of things that have passed and since the people are working, spending and enjoying themselves he will more likely than not walk right into a new term.

bernie did that with the democrats. trump just took the credit and the flak. doesn't make trump a greater achiever than bernie.

Yes, the corporation. I was stationed in AZ, I have seen the rapes trees, saw plenty of local news stories about attacks, dead bodies and my family in Texas has sent me videos of shootouts on the Mexican side of the border. Without ICE all of those things would be close enough that you wouldn't need to hear about them from me.

There are 7.7 Billion people on this planet, the poor American's live better than 99% of them. Even if only 10% entered the US (legally or illegally) America would be crushed by the cost. Someone has to protect our border and ICE does a great job.
