Quite the opposite. Coming from a family that saw one member die from an overdose of opiate drugs decades before the current drugs came on market, I became aware of what science knows about addiction. From what we know, you ae born with it. That would explain my sister the drug additc, my brother and father the alcohol addicts and another brother with a related addictive disorder.None of them lived long enough to take any of these modern drug formulas. People who allow dozens of companies to make tens of millions of dollars to billions of dollars selling addictive alcohol drinks, making their owners rich, have no place suing drug companies. The drug is intended to be used to relieve people suffering in pain. Alcohol is marketed because it makes us good looking or fun, according to the commercials. If you want to ruin one for people misusing their product, do the same to the other.
I am a capitalist, who thinks that we do too little to help addicted people. A user fee on alcohol and drugs with known potential for use by addicts to fund preventative and treatment programs makes more sense than suing some companies out of existence.
