And the reason why peanut allergies have become so pervasive is because expectant mothers expressly avoid eating any thing with peanuts, and so the baby doesn't build up any sort of immunity to them whatsoever, and grows up deathly allergic to them, and the cycle continues. Dr. Jonathan Haidt talked about this on Joe Rogan a while back.
