Single use items like plastic wrappers and bags are what these people are against. I'll tell you what, ask her how much extra C02 a plastic bottle emits, ask her if why she bought the plastic and if she was going to put it in the proper receptacle so you don't worry about it and can sleep at night.
Also ask her why she isn't touring India where they're dumping garbage trucks full of trash into the ocean, and china for emitting way more C02...
