Well in reality I agree with you. I don’t agree with Republicans on everything. Some things like gay rights not at all. But Democrats have forced me to pick sides.

Don’t agree with Republicans on their stance on gay rights. Is that English enough for you?
The viewpoint that Dems are commies simply has no basis in reality. Not even the farthest-left politicians in America want to seize the means of production and make everyone economically equal.
You don’t know what you’re talking about.

Well, except for Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and these people:
No, they're not commies either. They are considered "far left" here, but they would be middle-of-the-road politicians in the European social democracy context. Way different from a Communist.
I'm just not gonna sit here and let you distort the meaning of words to imply a coming civil war.

Didn’t bother even reading the article did you? Oh well, forget you. I will post some of the most important parts that contradicts your assertion:
“Other nuggets from the report include that 22% of millennials believe “society would be better if all private property was abolished,” and that 45% of Generation Z members and millennials believe that “all higher education should be free“
Gen Z doesn’t make policy for Democrats, and most of them are going to shed these silly rebellious beliefs once they grow up and get a job.
I’d love to see equivalent polling for the crazy things right-leaning youths these days believe. But I’m not all that interested and don’t really have to, I can just scroll this meme site.

Which is why people tend to grow more conservative as they get older and have to face the real world.
I actually became more liberal as I grew up, got a job and became financially secure enough to not mind the idea of paying higher taxes so others can have a better shot.
YMMV.

Well I contribute to charities. My taxes already go to helping the less better off and that is perfectly alright with me. Just because I don’t wan’t to pay for illegal invaders and other stuff doesn’t make me a bad person. In fact, it makes me s patriot.
Is the “89” your birthdate? I would hardly call you “older” if that’s true.
Okay, well forget that you said anything about either subject. Pretend this is a brand new question. I will not put quotation marks around any phrase this time.
Do you believe European citizens are serfs of the state?
We turn over freedoms in our society too, though arguably to a lesser degree. Every time we pay taxes, consent to civil and criminal judgments, etc. All things other developed countries have, too.
America has a wonderful constitution, but we are not that unique as a society on a day-to-day basis. Modern existence requires consenting to state power to some degree. The alternative is anarchy.
Other countries have a social contract, too. They couldn’t function if they didn’t. Britain actually doesn’t have a written constitution at all, but they still have basically all the same things we do. Courts, police, welfare payments, taxes, etc.
As for government being answerable to the people — Other countries have representative democracy too, Britain included. They just had a pretty noteworthy election this week
If elections aren’t “being answerable to the people,” then what is it?
