God created man and told him not to eat the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil or the fruit of life. He had the whole garden to eat from. He ate the fruit that was forbidden. God kicked him out of the garden so he didn't eat from the other tree. Misunderstanding cleared up.
SO LET ME SORT THIS OUT CORRECTLY.... GOD MADE A BUNCH OF CREATURES THAT WOULD BE HIS SLAVES, BUT HE DIDN'T WANT THEM TO ACT LIKE HIS SLAVES, SO HE GAVE THEM THE FREE WILL TO NOT ACT LIKE HIS SLAVES, BUT WHEN THEY DIDN'T ACT LIKE HIS SLAVES, HE PUNISHED THEM FOR NOT ACTING LIKE HIS SLAVES?
