So "the world" believes the Taliban, or just you?

What do you believe? Do you think Trump just made this up on the spot, like he often does, or do you think maybe there is something behind the story that we don't know? I mean, both things are certainely possible, but you know the story about the boy who cried wolf.

Anything that comes first from the MSM I assume the opposite is true or at the least very suspect.
Anything that comes first from Trump I assume is a part of his negotiating or trolling strategy, or at the very least self-promotion (not ego stroking, but because he's been promoting himself all his life, and he does have an election coming up).

It falls under the category of self-promotion. Unfortunately it appears to be wishful thinking. The Taliban released a statement saying that are willing to talk, but their stance has not changed. It was self-promotion by Trump on his recent surprise trip to Afghanistan.
