No no no, its a side scroll shooter, though the third one does get kida like that sometimes in the halfway point. Anyways

So in the first one, theres this magic crystal called seyga, and it allows humans to use magic. Now, one day, it all gets stolen, so this godess, Zizou, comes down from the hevens to try and fix it, becuase shes the godess of magic. You fight a few bosses, and you find the princess of Rasil, Riva, and defeat her and send her back to where she came from, and make her return the seyga.

In the second one:
Let me type it in a second box

In brave dungeon, a character named Al (its a girl dont fall for it-) who is a treasure hunter is just going through all the fungeons in this place because thats what treasure hunters do.

Shes actually kind of important to the game as a whole, and shes been a part of all the games, and is in the spinoff, another spin off and another one.

You learn a bit about the games lore from her, because Brave Dungeon was out before the third game, and you learn that Al was an ex-lion corps member, even though it has nothing to do with THAT game in particular. You also find out that Ziziou has an older sister from that game, and she makes an apperance in the third game as a final boss and a regular character.

Legend of Dark Witch is Mega Man-esque gameplay wise, which I often describe as “sideways danmaku.” Each game revolves around the protagonist, the Dark Witch Zizou Olympia, trying to stop someone from taking over the world, basically.

In the second one (the one in the meme)

The empress of Germa is sending reserchers to Frasa to they can fully understand the capabilities of Seyga. BUt, war is about to spark, so Zizou comes down to defuse the situation, and comes and sees the empress experimenting with her body, injecting herself with seya, so she can be this great, unstopable being. You beat her, and then you manage to avoid conflict.

In the third one:

The third one is Zizou trying to stop an ex-member of this group called 'the magic lion corps' from getting revenge on the rest of the members, becuase she felt betrayed. Zizou tries to warn them, but they end up getting into a boss battle each time, and yeah. Keep going and you find out the one who is pulling the strings is completly unrelated to the magic lion corps, but just wants them gone for her own reasons. You get into a fial battle with her, and do your own thing.

There WILL be a 4th one. There will be one, but theres not so much info in it.

first game:
(this is all the characters in the game. They are also all the bosses in the game)

Zizou: The protag and the godess of magic, here to try and stop some other dumb leader from ending the world.

Klinsy: A kid who id really smart, and works at a goverment library, Heveans Garden. Shes a bit tough to beat, and can be annoying at times personality wise...
Al: The tresure hunter mentioned above
Paplene: A cat-beast who is TECHNICLY a neko. Shes the govorners kid, and is very resorcefull. Beast-men also have no use for seyga, as they can use magic natuarally
Blad Broker (best girl and my one true waifu, just saying): an underground informant. She SHOULD be in school, but she skips it every time.
Sola: An exchange student thats the daughter of aristocrats. She dosnt like being treated like a child, and has a sense of justice. She has a pet thats like...a golden ball with wings, and just says "puh! Puh!" all the time, but its lowkeey the cutest thing ever-
Stoj: A faerie (thats how you spell it, yes) that hates humans. She also has no use for syega, and her magic is pretty good. SHe also has a weakness for sweets.
Veri: the princessess knight, and is very talented. Her skills are wated on Riva, though TBH.

Riva:
The princess. She was told by her father the king to steal all the syega. Annoying and rude, but acording to lore, Zizou met her when she was born. She also has a badass final form (and my favorite game ost of all time)

Also, the game has a fun mechanic where after you beat the game, you can play it again but with Riva as the protaganist, Its pretty fun, though shes harder ot use than Ziziou.

Icke- numbers resercher lowkey annoying but is cute
Kuito- Military reasercher nice and is a bit older than the rest
Klinsy- (the same one from the previous game) but she got hired to research
Herbert- Alchemist (its a girl dont fall for it-) easily annoyed and spends her time alone
Mari- dimention resercher, clumsy and drunk all the time
Urken(my other waifu)- Time resercher, like a mom and is a bit naggy
Litty- psychic resercher, quiet and soft spoken (uh..she dosnt wear clothes...just bandages)
Rudy- nerve resecher, hyper and energetic

Now, Zizou calls these following people to act as solldiers and get rid of everyone in the palace so she can break into it easier

But... the second is my favorite too. IDK it just feels like the story is really planned out in that one, and I like it. The third one is really good too, so is the first, but the second one in the best.

Blad is pretty cute too tbh. I have a weakness for clumsy anime girls. It’s why my favorite regular boss from the series is Mari, one of her attacks is literally her tripping and falling on the ground and that is f**king hilarious.

Mari is my second favorite, and it is lowkey cute, but my gavorite from the game is Urken. I really dont know why, but I love her a lot. I can beat her with my eyes closed....literally. Ive tried, and I could do it.

Though, now that I think of it, Blad is kinda clumsy too. Like her revenge magic spell in the second game is her falling on her face, unless you have the difficulty on lunatic

Yeah, Urken is pretty easy. Just spam Dark Matter and you win lol. It’s just a matter of timing. (Ah, timing? Cuz her revenge magic/skill is time related? I know, brilliant.)

In general though, the LODW2 bosses are rather easy, generally fitting that same theme - spam their weakness until they die - unless you’re Rudy or Klinsy, since their weaknesses aren’t damaging moves.

Yeah, Klinsys boss battle on Lunatic gave me a heart attack. What Ive seen is that you have to stand at the end of the stage and move around a bit over there. Whith Sola its easier cuz of her secondary attack, you spam the touchscreen/button and its easy. I havent beaten Zizou on lunatic though. RIP.

What bothers me though is that you can only use the healing move once, so you gotta wait until youre like...almost out of health to use it, and that always gives me anxitey.

I have unlocked the Syega Shop in both LODW1 and LODW2 if that’s what you’re looking for.

I have not beaten Sola’s campaign on Lunatic though, nor have I played Brave Dungeon. When I found the Dark Witch wikia - after having completed all three LODW games that weren’t the renovation and I was just looking for a reference image to draw some of the characters - was the first I had heard of Brave Dungeon. I’ll probably get it though.

Nah, nah, the secret shop. You know, you get to the startscreen of the game, you press a few buttons, then it takes you to the secret shop where you can buy even better things that you wouldnt find in the regular one?

I would recommend it if you could. Its really good, as long as youre okai with the fact that its a turn based RPG. (You can also have Mari on your team, if it makes you happy.) the game kinda kicks you around for a bit, but my stratagy was going through the first floor of each dungeon one at a time, then the second floor of each, then the third, and you get the idea.

...the forbidden skill shop? Yeah I’ve unlocked it, I had 90 deaths on Expert as Zizou. Though I never used it.

Turn based RPGs are fine, you’re looking at someone whose favorite games are Pokémon. If my internet were in working order I’d go buy it off the 3DS eShop...or the switch one since the switch one is two games at once.

No! You dont know what Im talking about, do you? Well, its fine. Go to the title screen of the game, press L R L R L R X (if im not mistaken, its been a while since I last punched in the code) but you can get some pretty neat stuff if you do that. Its a bit pricey though.
