Lemme see if I can explain what this is true:
The whistleblower heard about some potential crimes.
They talked to some people who said they'd heard the crimes happen.
The whistleblower wrote a report and turned it in to the Investigator General (a trump appointee)
The IG investigated. Then said, "oh, yeah, some crimes did happen. I better tell Congress."
The IG told Congress, "Hey, I talked to some people and they heard some crimes happen on a phone call."
Then the White House released a not-verbatim transcript showing that, yes, crimes had happened on the phone.
Then Congress said, "Hey, we want to talk to the people who heard the crimes and participated in the crimes."
Those people showed up and said, "Yes, we listening on the phone call. Yes, there were crimes."
One guy said, "I was a part of the crimes. I did the crimes because I was told to do them."
So, you see, you don't need to talk to the person who heard about the crimes because you heard from the people who helped commit the crimes.
