That means that if it happened 10 years ago, it was the Democrats who did it.

But it has only ever been done by McConnell.

What the hell are you talking about? The simple majority "Nuclear Option"? That was Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) in 2011 again in 2012.

But he also allowed the full senate to discuss and vote on legislation sent to it from the house, which McConnell is not. And Reid also permitted discussion and voting on judicial nominees, which McConnell absolutely refused to do for Obama. And when McConnell was asked why he wasn't letting the senate consider the election security egislation sent from the house, his response was, "Because I get to choose what gets voted on." Even republican senators are admitting the only thing they ever see from McConnell is swamp critters being installed in federal court seats. Mitch McConnell is the destructor of our republic; and HE is the first to admit it.

Um, any vote in the Senate is open to all Senators to vote on. There is no way to call a vote while preventing any Senator from voting. It's quite normal for the Senate to vote on legislation without discussion. Democrats are guilty of the same things when they control the House and Senate. Pelosi, RIGHT NOW, is refusing to allow USMCA to be brought before the House because it would be considered a win for Trump if it were passed.

Democrats invented this behavior. The "Nuclear Option" was the best thing ever when Harry Reid made the option available to the Senate - but now that Republicans control the Senate, they regret having done it.
