No Safe Spaces for Bad Memers!

Even though I've seen the cringe on PoliticsTOO, I'm gonna have to disagree. I personally don't care if someone wants to make his own politics stream, even if he can't meme.

One politics stream. Prevent downvotes of comments and memes. You can still flag however.

I disagree with only subscribing to one or the other as that puts us in a bubble. Politics should be about reading oppositional opinions. Irrational or indoctrined though they may be, it is at least useful to broaden your perspective in a debate.

It's fun to troll from time to time.....if you like reading 3 paragraphs stuffed into a single meme. It's sometimes hard to even see the image behind the wall of text.

Yeah, it's not something to look at every day. I only go there when I'm bored and I want to watch someone flop and twitch.

Eh, why not have 2. Making you stick to one or the other would be nice though.
But all those who post on Politicstoo pretty well no that it's an echo chamber, Where unless someone has decided to have some trolling fun you are only going to get agreements and upvotes. The mods on there are pretty pathetic (heavily deleting comments they dont like) and I notice that many of us wont have our meme featured because it upsets them.
All that said, i thought about it some more and there should be only one,stream.

Do mods delete comments they don’t like or are you referring to downvotes? Are the memes not being featured because they break the stream’s rules or are they genuinely not featuring them?

It has not happened to me but I am willing to entertain the possibility that it has happened to others. But I cannot deny the probability that most Trump Supporters are incapable of reading. In this very meme is a comment complaining about reading paragraphs of memes. And while yes, the best memes are direct and to the point, context can be difficult if the intention is non-biased political commentary. Which, in and of itself seems self-defeating.

Why bother having “non-biased” commentary if no one is going to bother to read them, if not only troll them?

Hi, yeah not referring to downvotes. I wont name the 1 mod I know that deletes on there, but I can only say I have knowledge of the 1 mod who deletes anything they disagree with. Others have spoken about the censoring by mods but for a fact I write mods but have experienced only a mod doing it.

I dont think the memes violated rules but I can only speak about the 2 memes of mine that were non featured and say they didn't violate any rules. In the politics stream I have had 2 memes not featured and they stated why they weren't featured with the politicstoo stream no such defeatured response or any messages are given. The meme just sits in limbo.

In the last few days someone had a complaint meme showing screenshot of same meme submitted to both streams. However the politicstoo submission was still unfeatured after a period {a time period I dont recall } and the featured one had been seen by a few hundred.

I agree the simplest meme is best. However I find it near impossible to not write at least a half paragraph if I am going to get the story or fact across. I think commentary is good but censorship on here, on any stream shouldn't be happening if the meme itself passes the rules and no one is receiving threats.

PolticsTOO is a private stream. Mods of private streams do not have to operate with the same fairness as IMGFlip mods. If an IMGFlip mod is harassing you, that is a serious allegation. If a mod of a private stream refuses to feature your memes, that's a private matter.

I've never seen an IMGFlip mod... I don't think they're as obviously indicated as private stream mods are.

I'm typically not a fan of censorship either. This is why I rarely post to private streams like PoliticsTOO. I do make commentary but if they chose to remove my comments; I assume that they would be killing their own viewer count that help keep that private stream alive.

In fact, though I cannot find which meme it was, recently, a slew of frequent PoliticsTOO posters were admonishing the mod there for deleting comments and possibly memes despite the fact that that went against their own stated policies. The Mod's justification being that if they had posted something like that in Politics "it would've been downvoted to oblivion," I'm paraphrasing as I'm going off of memory. Which, I admit, is not the best thing to go on.
