how did you become the 22nd most popular imgflip user in less than a year?

I guess I put a lot of time into this site for 6 months.
Interacted with as many people as I could and try to be a little bit funny at least lol.

Now I realize that there a tonnes of new users with millions of points, is there something going on here that we're not aware of?

Who have you spotted? Lol no hidden secrets.
I probably got 30k points the first 2 months after I signed up. Once I started interacting with everybody they help boost your memes up the pages and go from there. I don’t have the time needed to stay active every day now.

Well at the time I signed up, there was a large amount of top users all still very active and posting daily. By the time you had a meme hit page 1, there would be long comment threads and if it was your meme and you replied and upvoted to everyone’s comments, you would have potentially another 2-300 upvotes via comments on top of meme upvotes.
Back before I joined here, I can see that top comments on memes would get 100 upvotes sometimes. So clearly the site has lowered in popularity since say 4-5 years ago, hence harder to earn points.

I suspect that the site might be picking back up in popularity, you can see this from the increasing amount of reposts and upvote begging. perhaps imgflip is becoming popular again
