realized that after I hit post.
this site is not well equipped to tackle big issues in the comment section,and it was unfair of me to even ask.
there has been a massive shift over the past 40 years,and the younger generation is going to be left holding the bag from our excesses.
what many older folk seem to not be getting..at all...is the ok boomer meme.
which can be directly tied to what we are talking about here.
these kids get it.
they see what is coming down the pike,and are understandably concerned.
but how do many older folk deal with their concerns?
dismissive condescension.
which is where "ok boomer" arose.
instead of attempting to express their concerns to be met with dismissive condescension,they respond with an equal dismissive condescension.
what tickles me is how many boomers get so irritated by this meme.
as if the fact they have been breathing longer gives them automatic wisdom and clarity of vision.don't know bout you,but I know plenty of boomers who are chock full of ignorance,yet fancy themselves educated and worldly.they reside in this weird world of fantasy and fiction and get upset if anyone attempts to pop their little fantasy bubble.
things are going to shite.we all know it but you and I are reaching our final chapters.
we can disagree,or argue the finer points with the young'uns,but to condescendingly outright dismiss them is a dick move.(my opinion of course).
I am heading out to volunteer at the food bank my brother runs today.so don't think I am ignoring you.i will be gone all day.but i'll catch up later with you.
