So if your company hired one of Trump's children, and then used that hire as leverage to get Trump to intervene and stop an investigation of that company, that's ethical and legal? No one should investigate that? IMO, that's pretty murky. In that context, Trump's implied quid pro quo seems normal and tame.

I think Trump, Biden and Congress are all playing the same game and trying to call each other out for it. They all do shady things with a cover reason, a parallel purpose that is plausible, making it impossible to prove their real purpose. Congressional Democrats may have legit reasons to suspect Trump of wrongdoing, but anyone who thinks they are not "investigating" strategically with an eye on the coming election is probably still putting teeth under their pillow.

If impeachment is merely strategic, idk if that's a good strategy considering it probably won't go anywhere.. doesn't matter what Trump does, they don't have the votes.

Doh! I meant strategic in positioning for the election. In the court of public opinion, the standards of evidence are much lower. An accusation is almost as good as a conviction. If he is impeached and not removed, think of the rhetoric! The Dems could end up sweeping the whole election. "Trump gets away with everything, and this time had help from the Republicans. We need your help, America..." blah, blah.

Ok so I guess we are in agreement then? Hunter Biden was not being investigated. Burisma was being investigated for sh*t that they did before Hunter got there. They hired him to try and get them out of the hole they put themselves in.
(If I remember correctly it was taxes or something.. and the new guy Joe Biden got in continued investigating Burisma for more than 6 months and eventually made them pay a fine or something like that.)

No one that I know of has said that Hunter was personally being investigated.
