Socialism is NOT working together for a common purpose

we can decide,and have,what and how we wish to utilize our resources.
which is exactly what we have done since the beginning of this country.

I think that the OP is warning us of the dangers of trading liberties for things like safety and healthcare. It is similar to the full Thomas Paine quote, "Is life so dear or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Allmighty God forbid it! I know not what course others may take, but as for me, give me liberty or give death."

As I read this, he (or she) is making a distinction between full blown socialism and uniting to achieve a common goal, while warning us that safety and healthcare are the bait. Might just be my take.

I went through some tough times, but seem to be coming out of it. Merry Christmas to you and your family as well!
