Every plant that doesn't get eaten, gives off CO2 when it decomposes. That's why it's good to build lots of wood houses. Capture that carbon in long term storage.

It's also why it's good to be eaten by a shark. Then you won't decompose. Course, the shark then needs to be eaten as well in a giant pyramid scheme that is bound to fail eventually.

We're doomed.

Imagine how much carbon we could capture if this kind of thing were scaled up. Human ingenuity is awesome, and there are real scientists and engineers out there doing great work to make human habitation more sustainable.

Unfortunately, in the meantime, the massive amount of concrete we are producing for building purposes (a very dirty process) is fueling greenhouse gas emissions.

And, as we see every day on this site, there is a whole lot of ignorance pulling the other way.

I'm not a scientist or an engineer myself; the best I can do is try to raise awareness and make small changes in my personal consumption and travel habits. And, naturally, vote Democrat.

Concrete is one of the most CO2 producing product in the world.

Oak grows over 3' a year and is one of the strongest hardwoods in the world. It's basically a high quality weed.
