Imagine how much carbon we could capture if this kind of thing were scaled up. Human ingenuity is awesome, and there are real scientists and engineers out there doing great work to make human habitation more sustainable.
Unfortunately, in the meantime, the massive amount of concrete we are producing for building purposes (a very dirty process) is fueling greenhouse gas emissions.
And, as we see every day on this site, there is a whole lot of ignorance pulling the other way.
I'm not a scientist or an engineer myself; the best I can do is try to raise awareness and make small changes in my personal consumption and travel habits. And, naturally, vote Democrat.
