Yes I believe dress codes should be enforced. A part of being in school is learning to be an upstanding member of society, and learning how to navigate society's bounds of what is accepted. Not that anyone can't or shouldn't push those bounds, but one must have a good understanding of what consequences there may be should they break the bounds. I think uniforms is pushing it, that is too strict. Let people have their own sense of style, dress the way they want to. But, if a guy wants to wear baggy pants and shirts with obscene language on them, he needs to learn to expect resistance or accept that they may be treated differently, not taken seriously or looked down on. If a girl wants to wear glorified bikinis as daily outerwear, then she should expect cat calls and harassment, or be asked to cover up when a restaurant owner doesn't appreciate it. School dress codes help to form those standards.
