All presidents have had the authority to take action based on laws enacted after the 9-11 attacks. America took a stand against terrorism, united behind a Republican president. Trump signed off on many military operations under this authority, including those he proudly claimed had wiped out ISIS. If it was an illegal war, he conducted it for over two years before giving Turkey the go ahead for ethnic clensing, facilitating the relase of tens of thousands of ISIS terrorists and surrendering leadership in the region to his boss, Putin.
