I'd be inclined to remove "Honest Abe" Lincoln. He wasn't the honest man history portrays him to be. Nobody died in the "Civil War" to "free slaves". That is the rewritten history shoved down our throats for 150+ years. The war had absolutely nothing to do with slavery, but Lincoln's lust for money, power, and greed. He could not bear to see the U.S. lose 85% of its revenue in the form of excessive tariffs by the South leaving the Union. If the war was about "freeing the slaves" (which, by the way, were brought here by New England Yankees on the ships they built) then why did the North not first free the more than 429,000 slaves still in the Union AFTER the South seceded? Nope. Not about slavery. It was about eliminating States' Rights and establishing a strong centralized government, which we are still shackled with today.
