You've got a recent one that got over 150 upvotes, I'd say that's a pretty good one! I got a chuckle out of it, lol. Part of it is being relatable, part is just luck. Also, time of day counts. You may make a meme that is awesome but if it doesn't post during high traffic hours it may sink to the bottom of the list. Keep at it, you're doing fine :)

I seem to recall this question being asked not long ago. I don't intentionally make bad memes but some don't do as well as others. Can't say I have a worst one that I wouldn't make again.
