During the 2016 presidential debates, HRC made a HUGE deal out of what Trump said about accepting the result of the election only if he won. While he was obviously making a poor attempt at humor, it is the height or irony that it turned out that in reality, she is the one who would only accept the result if she won.
This is just one example of how politicians in general, and the dems (in the person of HRC) in particular have very situational positions on issues. Nothing grounded in fundamental principles... just sticking their finger in the air and seeing which way the wind is blowing. If it's blowing in a direction that they think will get them elected, that's the position they take.
Of course, calling out a politician for things like this does no good. Just look at AOC and her $300+ trip to the hair salon. When someone points out a politician behaving in manner contradictory to their stated beliefs, they don't own up to it, they just turn it around and attack the person who pointed out their hypocrisy.
