What's the worst event a friend has dragged you to?

College roommate asked me to go to dinner with him, his girlfriend, and his cousin. Never even mentioned that his cousin was a girl. My then girlfriend/future wife was nowhere to be found in this scenario. He had told his cousin I was her date, out of pity for her...I played along with it for her sake, she had no idea, but talk about awkward. I had some choice words for my roommate later that night. Luckily my now wife has a sense of humor and found the whole ordeal hilarious.

I would have been mortified. It's really great that your wife could see the humour in it. A lot of women wouldn't be so understanding ;)

I said sure! Then when she arrived with several other people in a car I started to wonder. They were all happy, but wouldn't tell me what was going on. It wasn't until we pulled into a warehouse parking lot that they told me it was a sales presentation to get us to sell water filtration systems. Mother fu.......

I got my revenge. The presenter would ask questions like who doesn't own a microwave and I would raise my hand throwing off his everyone owns one line. Then he asked how many new a millionaire? I raised my hand again and listed off the several I know. I kept at it until he asked me to leave. I happily got up and waited outside until it was over. No one in the group on the way home said a word.
