So why was it Bidens business to interfere with Ukraine politics?

He appears to have been expressing the opinion of the American government. He was Vice-President at the time and the world was calling for Shokin's removal for corruption. If you want to start a conspriacy theory, it should not be one where the evidence is so overwhelming against it and available on-line.

You're correct. Joe Biden was just the messenger. Hunter had nothing to do with it.

Michael and Ross--I went to that site, but the audio was not clear. I managed to find a transcript of the tape. Can you point me to the part where Biden says anything about his Son or the company he sat on the board of? The reported investigation of the CEO of the company happened on George W. Bush's watch, three years before Biden became Vice-President and eight years before they hired Hunter Biden. No charges were brought at that time. Now, if I was like the Trump Troll conspiracy theorists, I would suggest that by doing nothing at that time, Bush is part of the "cover up." This is the most extreme case of false equivalence Trump has ever cooked up..

Hi Larry, you must have the wrong transcript. He clearly says that the president of Ukraine said to him on withholding $1B: "You're not the president. You don't have the authority." Biden: "Oh yeah, call him" - audience laughs. This did not happen under Bush.
Yeah the audio isn't the best, try using CC with the video.

I said that the investigation of the CEO of the company Hunter Biden worked for happened when Bush was president. You need to read things not read things into them. Also, doesn't Biden also say that he was a principal in getting the $1-billion for the Ukranians in the first place? At the time, the world was criticizing the Ukranian government for not removing Shokin. Shokin's two principal deputies had recently resigned citing his corruption as the reason. For the US to say, we will give you a billion dollars for doing the right thing that your own people, legislature and most of the governments of the world want you to do, is not the same as "Get me some dirt on Trump," (my paraphrase).

Yes Larry, there was an investigation of the CEO that happened under Bush. There was a more recent investigation in 2015. This time it was during Obamas white house. Biden was sending anti-corruption message to UA, while Hunter was on the board of the company in question. Obama claimed there was no conflict of interest as Hunter was a private citizen and had not discussed any corporate dealings with Joe.

In the video you had hard time hearing, Biden brags about 'having power to' prevent the aid from arriving until the prosecutor of fired. He does not bring up why he wanted prosecutor fired.

The whole world wanted Shokin fired. The Burisma official that had been investigated earlier and cleared was Mykola Zlochevsky. In 2015 Shokin said he was going to investigate Burisma, and just about everyone else in Ukraine. But, apparently there was nothing to investigate. The investigation had already been set aside when Biden acted. Yuri Lutsenko, a former Ukrainian prosecutor general who succeeded the fired Shokin, told reporters that there was no evidence of wrongdoing by Joe or Hunter Biden. But, I guess that doesn't matter if you really want their to be a problem.

Well, we're just going to have to see how it all plays out as you are absolutely right, it "doesn't matter if you really want their to be a problem". You still remember 3 years of Russian collusion? For 3 years we've read story after story that things were the way they weren't. Unfortunately that is the norm now. We live in a world where facts do not matter anymore. If you don't read the news, you are uninformed. If you read the news, you are misinformed. ‘You can’t see the forest for the trees’. Remove emotion, rise above it, look at a bigger picture and use discernment. It's about all we've got left to navigate in today's (orchestrated) madness.

I don't know whose propagnda you are echoing, but the 2016 election was two years and eleven months ago. Trump became president two years and eight months ago. Mueller was appointed Two years and five months ago. It hasn't been "three years of Russian collusion." So, if your source does not see the importance of being factual, I can understand your inability to "use discernment," (a phrase whose use suggests merican English is not your native tongue, as I have suspected for a long time). So, lean back in your chair (whether it is here or in Petrograd) and watch the Mad Conductor Trump Orchestrate the final movement of his symphony.

Said 3 years, instead of 2 years and 5 months. Figurative speech Larry, not propaganda. Try using discernment. I also said, "We live in a world where facts do not matter anymore." That does not mean facts do not matter to me, or my source(s). In fact, I can't comment on my source(s) as I don't know them personally, their motives or influence. Stick to facts when lecturing others on the topic. You have misrepresented what I said, and you're not even a journalist with an agenda.
I take you've never sat at corporate meetings that ended with: "That's what we're going with!" Are these the 'facts' you are waiting patiently to read about, and later argue? Knock yourself out. After so much success during a war, Edward Bernays created 'peace-time propaganda' and call it Public Relations, a department every corporation has. Are the 'facts' you're referring to somehow immune from this 'orchestrated madness'? All news, narratives and expert opinions are bought and paid for. We're all chewing on the same shit sandwich, get over yourself.

I may not have sat at corporate meetings. But, I did work directly for and with one of George H.W. Bush's cabinet members. I accompanied him and members of his family as they traveled through the Region I was director of, for his department. I performed similar support his Deputy Secretary and many of their predecessors, including the longest held POW in the Vietnam War. All of the people I served during those years were Republican Political Appointees. I served them faithfully, as my oath required, and their secrets will stay with me to my death. Each of them was imperfect. They made personal and professional mistakes in my presence. But, I knew the difference between being human, and abusing the office. I was able to tell the most assertive of them that an order to me was illegal and why. I suggested an alternative path, and he never called me a traitor. They never asked my political stripes and I never offered a politically motivated suggestion or remark. We all just did our jobs in service to our country.

I know how fact driven public servants, serve. And, I know the difference between fact and opinion.

I must say, although I don't agree on most of your point of view, I like you Larry. Your naiveté, perhaps,... but above all, your integrity (which I value the most) got in the way of a career advancement, money, and all other "benefits" that come from joining "the club". What you described happens to most, in all industries and all professions, starting at around VP level. These people aren't stupid. They know the law very well, and they completely understand what they are asking of you. Asking you to perform/execute illegal order, was a test. A test you failed. All good guys fail this test for one reason or another. If you were to execute as ordered, there'd be following orders, each more "illegal" then the previous. Your career, above all, your life, would take a much different path... Good on you Larry!

That was not the last time he asked me to break the law. He did get my direct supervisor to do so in a way that would have got them both fired, after I left government employment. They used the power of the Federal government to interfere in the potential success of a private industry enterprise, he took issue with. My loyalty to my former employees, who got caught up in the smear campaign, kept me from dropping a dime.
