Unhelpful High School Teacher

Parents have a responsibility to raise their children and that includes talking about sex. But schools should be able to discus the science behind it.

Kinda.. but if parents can parents should do both. Id rather id teach my kids. Cause i dont have an agenda

Well im not saying that im saying like. Minors should explore sexual intercourse.

If you teach them properly, they will be better prepared. Minors having sex is going to happen. Been that way forever and no matter what you what to believe your children will goes through the same changes that everyone else's kids have gone through since before written history. Simply telling them not to leaves them without important knowledge. I was lucky not to get anyone pregnant as a minor, but I sure tried. My son didn't have kids until he was ready because he had better knowledge than I did.

Well its better for both. For me i like to think its something explored together by two people who don't know what they are doing and experience it for the first time with each other

Kids are going to be kids. Parents can influence the decisions, but schools can teach science. Morals are not concrete and vary greatly around the world when it comes to sex. But science is science. Facts have no agenda, people trying to distort facts to fit their definition of morals do.

Parents first and foremost, but I think it's ok to teach in schools as well, so long as they are explicit in letting parents know what will be discussed and it should be optional if parents don't want their kids to attend. The sex ed that I had in school was really pretty good and informative, but my parents had already had "the talk" with me before I actually attended the class so I knew what to expect. I don't think many parents do well with that these days, maybe it's the parents that should go to sex ed, lol!

And the stories that crop up about presenting kids with porn and talking about sex positions and junk, yeah that needs to stay out of school.

Exactly. It should be optional in school but really should be for the parents. It kinda helps with the studying you know

I'm not talking about strict I'm talking about teaching kids what's right and wrong. A kid who's been taught proper stewardship and responsibility for something entrusted to him or her like a phone would know better than to look at crap like porn. Kids as young as 8 are getting addicted to that stuff and that's a tragedy.

Still too young imo. Kids younger than 18 really have no need to be looking at that. Not even adults should be. But that's one problem with the world today.

The moralist in me wants to say that parents should be the ones to breach the subject.... but the stats show that teen pregnancies plummet in states where schools are allowed to teach sex-ed.
I think I'm gonna go with the math in this case.

Besides, if I absolutely must to learn how to put a condom on, I'd rather it be done by a guest physician whom I will never see again. The thought of watching either of my parents attempt to defile a banana is just scarring.

It depends but i really think that it's for the parents. Mainly cause parents brought us in and such
