When you say talking about giving, what do you mean? Fundraising, or tithes, or televangelists wearing diamonds saying they need more money to further their cause? Or just all of it?

That's perhaps the most words I've ever heard you use son, I'm proud of you! Kidding aside, I get it, some can be over the top and it's not genuine, almost guilting into giving. And that's not right. But if there is a specific cause or reminding certain members that they need to give I'm good with it. Sometimes church members forget the purpose of giving and need to be reminded, and churches do run like businesses to an extent. Reminders that finances are a tool to be used to further Gods will can help keep us on track. But just to say praise Jesus and pass the plate is too much.

See this is my thoughts. People like Paul George Mueller and H.A. Ironside men who asked for needs through prayer got what the needed. Some people now want something rather than need it. Its fine to want, but it can become greed. When you get what you need and exactly just what you need it draws you towards God.

I agree wholeheartedly on an individual level, and believe spiritual leaders should do exactly what you suggest and pray for needs to be met. Ive experienced it first hand, praying for a specific need and the exact amount comes into hand unexpectedly. But I also think that if compelled at a congregational level they might share what they have prayed about especially if God compels so that others might know the need. Maybe then God might speak to them to inspire? But it must be done with God in mind and not with personal desires.

I think they should when the need arises, but sometimes it does get annoying.

I agree. But instead of asking they should pray like George Mueller or Hary Irionside
