what's wrong with public transportation?

Aside from the fact that it doesn't go everywhere that we need to, is inefficient and time-consuming, is most useful only dirty, high density cities, and still contributes to climate change?

why does it do so well in japan then? what you've described is, for the most part, the car and the freeway.

in Japan, public transport can do that. In America, public transport used to do that until the government made moves to kill private train companies & streetcar companies

A diesel train doesn't take you door to door, and diesel is more polluting than gas. Freeway congestion is due to poor planning and management. Too much time is wasted in waiting for the conveyance, and waiting through each stop.

I don't like cities.

Cars are not the problem. Generation of electricity is the greatest contributor to climate change.

Trains can go from city center to city center, or from one part of the city to another, notably quite a bit faster than the car. then, one can walk to their desired nearby destination. Humans are capable of walking.

true, but the quantity of gas-powered cars in the united states is greater than the quantity of diesel trains, and trains can be powered by electricity.
