I'm sorry, who's supposedly racist again?

I don't understand people (ESPECIALLY black people) who try to say if an establishment is classy, it's excluding black people. Have you not seen formal parties with black people? We can dress up for almost anything!

It seems some people are just looking for something to be offended by. Seems like a pretty standard dress code to me. Lol, no way I'd get in and I'm as white as snow.

If it's a private establishment, such as an upscale restaurant, club, or country club, I personally think it's fine. If government is forcing them to ensure a specific dress code, that's communistic. This also goes toward private schools who wish to impose a specific uniform or dress code.

Fun fact: The first private schools to enforce dress codes were in communist countries like the USSR!

But such organizations have no logical reason to impose dress codes unless it has nothing to do with appearance (like having to wear a hard hat on a construction job). If society was more laid-back (which the government keeps it from being), maybe these pointless dress codes wouldn’t exist.

That's true, but the whole point of a free market society is that there is a variety of private establishments with different ways on how they handle business. Some are more family-friendly with lax codes, some require more strict standards to walk the welcome mat. It's the people's right to choose how to run their businesses, as well as their right to choose whether or not to enter these types of businesses.

Normally, it’s more family-friendly establishments that enforce stricter dress codes. If it wasn’t for the media encouraging everyone to be a clean-ass prude, dress codes would stop existing. Laws shouldn’t limit how a store operates in any way, shape nor form, but that doesn't make it right nor profitable to run a business that enforces strict dress codes.

Like people aren't slobs enough already.

There is nothing sloppy at all about dressing however you wish.
