Swedish scientist suggests cannibalism to combat climate change

When I saw that story, I thought....clearly this is a joke, right?! Scary stuff.

To be fair, he's not suggesting we kill people to eat them. He's suggesting consumption as both a green way of disposing of corpses and obtaining nutrition. Logically, it could be a win-win, ASSUMING we got the corpse as soon as it perished and could be reasonably certain it was free of pathogens.
Would I be comfortable with it? No. But I can see the logic behind the suggestion.

I just think it's the height of irony that the people who keep preaching about the evils of eating meat are telling us we should eat people. As far as finding a better way of disposing of corpses, I'd say I just disagree with him on certain particulars, like the part about EATING DEAD MO[..]ERF[...]ERS!

Most of the people morally outraged that we eat meat are outraged that we kill the animals to do it, or the conditions that they are raised in. They wouldn't be angered if we only ate wild animals that died of natural causes. Of course, realistically that wouldn't be safe. We wouldn't know what the animal died of, or how long it had been dead, which would make it likely that it had pathogens from cause of death or rotting.
