Being in the United States illegally is a misdemeanor.

The fulminating felonies perpetrated by Trump's henchmen dwarf the felonies committed by illegals.

Just curious...

Would you swear on the souls of all your ancestors -- and all your progeny yet to come -- that you yourself are not guilty of some illegality?

To conduct a meaningful examination of conscience, start with your tax returns.

Speaking of tax returns, would you take the same oath mentioned above that no illegality would be revealed by Trump's tax returns.

Plus, there's this:

If you find Truth horrifying, God "himself" becomes a kind a terrorist.

Little wonder you have so little interest in Truth if it visits horror upon you.

I am well aware of past errors - and will make them again.

But it is another kettle of fish to know -- with the certainty that 2+2 do NOT equal 5 -- when someone else is wrong.

I am not always certain when someone else is wrong.

But, on occasion, I know - as a matter of incontrovertible fact - other people are wrong.

For example, Trump is wrong when he says "All negative polls are fake news."

If you take enough polls, even "motherhood" and "apple pie" will end up in negative territory.

There will ALWAYS be negative polls somewhere - in some population.

Furthermore, it is factually provable that Trump is a compulsive liar, a cheat (he cheated on all three of his wives), a criminal and a vindictive, abusive, demeaning person who, if we believe the detailed account of his first wife, is also a rapist.

Given Trump's refusal to conduct a promised press conference ("in the next few weekjs") about Melania's illegal citizenship application, it is overwhelmingly likely Devious Donald has been party to serious infractions of immigration law (at least "aiding and abetting") and that he is now involved in covering up these immigration crimes.

I cannot speak for the status of your own character but but I will cite just one example.

When Trump fabricates whole-cloth lies whose intention-and-effect is to undermine the foundation of any respectable epistomology -- that behavior by Liar/Cheater-in-Chief is worse than my flat refusal to "make shit up."

If you really believe Trump's behavior is "no worse than anything you or I are guilty of," you are part of the problem.

Even more ominously, you simultaneously strive to normalize the corrosion of Truth - and without a touchstone of garden variety factual truths there is no hope.

Belief in the foundational principle that "one thing is as good as another" is the essence of nihilism. (It is also a monstrosity.)

I sense that you have rationalized your all-or-nothing belief in an eventual "metanoiac encounter with Truth" as "the only way out."

Yes, we are always dealing with believe systems. It is even possible to believe that truth is no better than falsehood.

I believe that combatting the shitstorm of whole-cloth lies, dishonest distortions, innuendo and sludge-gossip ("many people tell me") that continually ooze from the mouth of Malignant Messiah is a commitment worth immeasurably more than the nihilistic inaction of waiting (like Godot) for a world-changing encounter with distilled, transcendendal Truth.

Furthermore, when it comes to The Common Good, The General Welfare and a meaningful Social Contract, fact-based incrementalism is worth more than any kind of apocalypticism (from the Greek for "lifting of the veil") whether you (or anyone else) construes apocalypiticism as a secular or "mystical" phenomenon.

No I am not as guilty as Trump if only because I do not deliberately lie and Trump has done so -- and continues to do so -- on thousands of occasions.

If you can't accept this evident truth, say so in this thread.

I do not recoil in horror. That's another of your lies.

I readily admit to being guilty of crimes worse than telling lies.

To state that I am incapable of reason is garden variety trolling.

You're getting the near the end of your rope.

You are about to cross the Rubicon and when I'm no longer available as (perhaps) the most intelligent and most reasonable correspondent you have, you will revert to what I venture are the relatively meaningless "confirmation bias" conversations you conduct with other benighted people who defend Malignant Messiah.

The magnitude of "the wrong" makes a categorical difference.

There are misdemeanors.

And there are felonies.

Fact: Trump and his people commit more felonies per capita than illegal immigrants.

Are you aware that historians agree that the Founding Fathers were leftists?

They are categorized as leftists because they were determined to overthrow established authority, which -- back in the day -- meant overthrowing the co-terminous power of England's totally merged Church-State. Indeed, the king (or queen) was the official head of the Church of England.

I encourage you to read the following article on "Liberal Democracy" which emerged as a political form in the 18th century. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberal_democracy

History and political philosophy couldn't be clearer.

Needless to say, the established monarchical and religious authorities of the day considered them "deranged Leftists."

The magnitude of wrong always matters.

That's why traditional Christian moral theology distinguishes between "venial" sins and "mortal" sins.

That's why the law distinguishes between "misdemeanors" and "felonies."

An abiding difficulting conducting conversation with right-wingers is y'all keep changing definitions. (See Pat Buchanan below.)

My meme is not about the propriety of illegals residing in the United States.

It's about the fact that Mobster-In-Chief hires inner-sanctum staff members who are much more prone to commit felonies than illegals are.

You strike me as groping after "false equivalency" as a way to dodge the central, damning fact that "Mobster-In-Chief hires inner-sanctum staff members who are much more prone to commit felonies than illegals are." (You can find linked evidence elsewhere in this thread.)

It also looks like there will be many more felonies - including the real possibility of credible treason charges -- arising from the House impeachment inquiry.

And finally, when Trump can no longer hide behind the office he abuses every day of his presidency, the New York courts will have opportunity to find him guilty on many otherf evidence-rich charges. (They will also have access to his tax returns.)

It is stunning that you and your ideological allies find no fault with this thoroughly putrescent politician, but instead are totally at home accusing leftists of being deranged.

Would you like to make an even-money wager on whether or not Trump is convicted of a felony in the next ten years?

The wagered amount -- $1000.00... $5000.00 -- can be held in escrow by a major commercial bank...

Wells Fargo? Chase? Bank of America?

Tax returns not required. Did you protest as much for Obama's still never revealed FULL birth certificate you know, to prove he's a citizen (which I believe he is, but he never proved it)...

Illegals are here illegally. They are invaders and misdemeanor or not, they are criminals for that alone.
3 ups, 5y,

You are welcome to call people "criminals" who are guilty of misdemeanors.

The inconvenient fact remains that there have been more felonious criminals per capita in Trump's inner circle and in his 2016 election campaign than there are among "illegal immigrants."

Fact: You and I would be surrounded by fewer felons if the kind of people Trump routinely employs were all exiled - and illegal immigrants were allowed to stay.

Admittedly, tax returns are not required.

In fact, Obama provided a legal copy of his "Long Form" birth certificate.

Here's Snopes' analyisis: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/birth-certificate/

You would not believe Obama provided his FULL birth certificate which is not required to prove citizenship as you would know if you applied for a U.S. passport.

Furthermore, you would not believe Obama's complied with the law fully even if Bill Maher's conditions were met: "There's nothing anyone can do to convince these folks. You could hand them, in person, the original birth certificate and have a video of Obama emerging from the womb with Don Ho singing in the background ... and they still wouldn't believe it... This isn't a case of Democrats versus Republicans. It's sentient beings versus the lizard people."

Furthermore, whatever birth certificate Obama might provide, I swear to God people like you would continue to claim it was not his FULL birth certificate.

For more information on Obama's birth certificate, see http://paxonbothhouses.blogspot.com/2018/11/reprise-bill-maher-on-birthers.html

In similar vein, when is Trump going to hold the press conference he promised "in a few weeks" (back in 2016)?

Nope. I'm intellectually honest. You're the spinmeister (Though you're very bad at it).

It's not ME calling them criminals... it's the US penal code. Misdemeanors ARE crimes. Those committing them ARE criminals. Indisputable.

Regardless, you've cited ZERO proof that felonies have been committed in Trump's administration. None. Zip.

The only criminals he associates with are Pelosi, Schiff, Schumer, etc...

Trump is not a felon. Not based on anything we've seen or heard of.

And illegals probably are and probably should. But they ARE still illegals and they ARE still criminals until legally pardoned. Period.

BUT, the border should be sealed first and foremost. You stop the leaky pipe before you deal with the flood in the basement. Common sense.
