The Smithsonian Magazine conducted a poll of veterans and active troops, with some very good results supporting current policy.

July 10 is a bit old considering this funding pull from the military just happened last week. It has nothing to do with military being stationed at the wall. It's pulling funding from military expenditures and using it for wall building.

Yeah, you don't know what's going on. That money had little if no affect on the military and didn't stop any projects. I'm talking about 3.6 billion signed off by the Pentagon last week that will directly stop projects, construction and military expenses deemed important.

Like the building project at Fort Huachuca - that was already on hold for environmental reasons? Yeah....I'm aware of those sorts of panty-bunch-inducing items. Congress had their chance, and they chose not to fund an important piece of national security in favor of being anti-Trump. Border security is within the purview of the presidency.

You see, that's the trouble with statistics....you only know what you know. Those high percentages were seized at ports of entry - where they're looking at everything and everyone coming through. If everything and everyone coming across the unchecked border were checked, how would those percentages change? There's no way to know, because we don't check those people.

Here's a statistic for you. 100% of the people crossing between ports of entry are criminals. How's that for security? Their first act entering the country is committing a crime.

They do check those people. These estimates are also based on the amounts found on those caught crossing the border illegally.

They don't catch everyone, and you're a fool if you think they do.

There are these things called statistics, analytics and math. Smarter people than you are capable of using them to estimate the numbers of people who get through both border crossings carrying drugs and those who cross land into America with drugs.

Everyone who crosses at a port of entry is examined. Maybe they don't catch them all, but they look at them all. They can be counted.

Very few who cross illegally - between ports of entry (across rivers, deserts, over fences) - are examined. The number of people crossing are only estimates - because they are not counted.....
