I think it's true although I don't know the science behind it when I or my kids are in the mode to sleep and we miss the window you kinda go into autopilot and it's harder to sleep.
I can sleep pretty much anywhere and anytime so long as I'm halfway comfortable, but if I'm beyond exhaustion I think adrenaline kicks in and I cant sleep for squat.
