My dad was one time looking for a hole in the tin roof of our house and was in the attic at night with the lights on. Mom asked how he planned on finding the hole and he said " easy you just look and see where the dark is coming in." We still don't let him live it down 20 years later. Lol.

My theory is an alien found the body of the person at work that had done the many things it now claims, but they are actually just accessed memories that the creature spews out from time to time with no understanding of context or logic.

When all you need to do is believe something and have no really testable evidence of proof... well you hat needs some serious mental gymnastics.
The thing that really flummoxes me is that most people who say ‘my belief is’ are usually genuinely nice people and also very intelligent too.

You make good points. I do always think that regardless of how ridiculous someone's beliefs might sound, it is important to be respectful to that person's opinion.
There are far more things we don't know than we do. The whole concept of religion is built around believing in something that cannot be proven or disproven for that matter. I'm not religious myself but I would never disrespect or ridicule those that are. Every idea and opinion probably sounded outlandish to people at some point.

People at work ask me what to do to solve a problem, I'll give them an answer and they immediately protest...did you or didnt you ask me what I would do?!
