By expanding ANY land they destroyed the incentive for self work or production. The government is always in the pocket of bureaucrats, but the farmers are only working for the farmland that they have more knowledge in than government bureaucrats.

I hate the animal farmers who are wasting potential gold mines by letting animals graze on that land when we can easily just grow crops that are fed directly to humans. Subsidizing farms is the same thing as giving free food to the poor and establishing labor unions for farmers, which are both socialist economic regulations.

If you can make broad statements, I can make them too.

And those high taxes and social programs are a lot easier to come about in low populated, homogeneous nations.

So.....like a state? In any event that "low populated, homogeneous nations" BS is just that. If it works on a small level it can be extrapolated out to a larger level. More people, more industries, more money, more taxes. Like Canada or Australia for instance.

Not really. More people means more diversity in ideas, more people from different classes, more people with different skills, health problems, etc. It's easy to main something when less people are there to receive the thing.
