Hon, I think you've been on this earth long enough to know what doublespeak is.

liberal:
willing to respect or accept behaviour or opinions different from one's own

Liberalism:
protecting and enhancing the freedom of the individual

whereas Liberal policies generally emphasize the need for the government to constraint and regulate.

No- it's not just 'some' and 'some'; there's a heavy imbalance in general.
Conservatives' states of mind are by far more liberal, generous and positive whereas so-called "liberals" are fare more intolerant, restrictive and angry. As is their politics.
Any unbiased person can see that.
