I have no particular reason as to why I don't want children. A lot of people seem to take great issue with the fact that I don't. I often get the ' you'll change your mind eventually'. While that is possible I honestly don't think that I will.

And why? Too many on this planet already...(to no offense for those who want.) Many suffer from not having a parent whether they died, they separated due to tragic event, or even both parents has outcasted the child, purposely of course.

Though I might think differently for children whom had a happy family life and suddenly the parents become deceased. I’d think they’d have to go to another family’s home unless the case is real bad such as they have no known family members or criminal activity in the family..

We have a 2.5 year old little girl, adopted her from birth so yes we definitely wanted kids. We'll probably adopt again at some point. What life will they have without a good family? That is why - we wanted to be parents yes but also to save someone's life.

Having one or two children still contributes to the population explosion, while having no children lessens the growth that would’ve come with having one or two children. Even if everyone obeys the two-child recommendation that you speak of, there are still folks in third-world countries who won’t stop because they’re not educated about birth control, or narcissistic couples who care more about having a big family than about the greater good.

Then the people with ego aren't the ones having one or two children, but the ones having big families on purpose as you said. And about not being educated about birth control, that's why we need to spread knowledge to these third-world countries. Because it's not only birth control but other problems that can be fixed with proper education.

When did I ever say that was okay? Reproduction was created for the continuation of humankind, not for personal enjoyment. The ego here is not the natural urge to have children but the misuse of that urge for self pleasure. You are trying to shift the point here.

What I meant was that even though it would not be egotistical to reproduce, it is egotistical if humans do it because there are too many humans; therefore, species preservation is no excuse. And I was using the rape analogy to show you that with your logic, rape products should favor rape.

Which is why having one or two children is the recommended amount. Not only does it not overpopulate, but it also saves money. And your point is invalid because the whole human race is considered overpopulated, and as you say, it is egotistical to reproduce when humans are overpopulated, then NOBODY will have children if they care about it being egotistical and the human race will die out since the moment humans aren't considered overpopulated, most people will already probably be too old for reproduction.

And about your analogy, no, that is not what I meant. Life is a gift, even if it came from something horrid. And to celebrate that gift of life, you should not do that horrid thing, as it is amoral.

Everyone else having no kids has to compensate for the families who are having too many kids, and if you really want the same experience without wasting, you can just adopt.
