It's just a random photo. My only baseball memorabilia is my ticket stub for a makeup game the Yankees and the White Sox. The original game was supposed to be played on September 11 2001

Not really memorabilia, but I snagged 3 Quaker State oil cans like this one from my grandfather's garage when he passed away. They're still full and in great shape, best I can figure is they're worth around $20 a piece. Also a couple of old vintage gas cans. I love old car stuff like that, so it's really neat that I got those and better yet I can say they belonged to him.

That's more like a keepsake. A piece of something that belonged to someone important in your life. I have my grandfather's sextant from his years at sea so I understand what you are talking about.

But memorabilia is things like autographs, tshirts, movie tickets. I have one coffee cup I bought when I was in DC and maybe two tshirts from a place I have visited. Otherwise I really don't care about them. Especially autographs. I don't understand the need for autographs.

Yeah that's kind of what I was thinking you were asking. Only thing I have in that category is an autographed T-shirt signed by Marcus Lattimore, all-star running back for USC when I was in school there. He went to the 49's in the draft but messed his leg up pretty bad in an accident on the field, so his name didn't really make it up there in the high ranks like some of the others.

I know who he is. I'm a college football fan (Go Gators!) and I live very close to Umass and once had Marcus Camby standing in line behind me at a store. He was nice in person.

Now when I was growing up in Florida we had a professional soccer team, the Tampa Bay Rowdies and I got to see Pele play a couple of times. That's about my sports stories. My father is friends with Phil Esposito and had sat with George Steinbeiner at an awards dinner.

I did one night meet what we thought was an old drunk farmer trying to buy more booze from my friend that was running a liqueur store in small hill town. We're hanging out listening to this old geezer tell us about how he knew Stalin and Mao and a bunch of other things. We should have taken him more seriously that night. It was Armand Hammer, the richest man in the world at the time. He was staying with a friend in this hill town because of the lack of light pollution and he was an avid stargazer.

I once met a Christian (Messianic Jewish) singer/musician/songwriter when I was in NY -- this was back when I was a kid. I absolutely love his music. Not only did he sign a songbook we got after the concert, but he explained to me a chord that I asked him about. All while he was playing. In fact, when he was explaining that chord, he went from playing the song he was playing to improvising on that chord. Best day of my life, most memorable item and associated memory.
