Ooooh, bad example.

Agricultural subsidies (as well as subsidies every step of the way from there to the store) serve to artificially reduce the price of food far below what they'd cost in the free market otherwise.
(THAT'S the cause of the 'obesity epidemic' that mystifies today's entitled consumer as well as why the masses are so gleefully apathetic - revolution generally being the sport of the hungry 'n all.)

Add to that minimum wage set by goverment, as well as wages affected by other laws, strikes, union bargaining, Henry Ford's concept of higher pay to stimulate consumerism, as well as that which is supplemented again by additional goverment subsidies for corporations, and you got something in effect LESS Capitalistic than even the USSR's Communism, which didn't do as much in the infusing capital into supplementing production costs arena.

Did I mention the difference between 4 inches of tired rock strewn topsoil in a cooler climate not as suitable for all types of farming (including large scale) in a puny little island vs a warmer temperate interior continent's worth of 20 feet deep of loess soil utilizing plenty of water (again, subsidized), fertilizer (subsidized), modern farming machinery (subsidized), and all that razzmatazz? Even the aluminum tray and the plastic lid your takeout came in are heavily subsidized.

You didn't build it, but you do eat it, and that requires a lot less sweat on your part.
Enjoy.

Tech probs caused me to rush last night's tidbit and thus no wrap up, plus I didn't get round to this part of the equation:

One BIG difference between King Loius XIV's gluttonous girth and yours is that then, poorer folks paid the most taxes, and it went to the King & Co (hence the fatness), whereas you get to whine about the reverse because serfdom appeals to you righties.

Not TOO coincidentally after our glorious American Revolution, le French had one of their own a decade later. The cause of both? The minions paying high taxes in exchange for watching a King get ever plumper. Coupled with being on the brink of starvation themselves and short on bread to go with that tea, the masses rose up. We got a Republic, they got a Republic. Bill of Rights, Declaration des droits, and like us, they are no longer essentially chattel.

Since then, the spectre of ending up listed as Roasted Royale on the night's dinner menu has given many a ruler cause to appease basic citizens with something in return for their buck. If you think Dumbmericans are going to be all giddy for Dear Leader Drumpf's $2.6 million p/day golf excursion on their dime after the Great Recession (Depression?) of 2020 goes into full gear, you ain' been paying attention, son.

Sooooooo....... Subsidized agriculture sold at significantly reduced prices peppered with various other subsidies along the way from production to market coupled with mandated wages sufficient enough to turn the pauper class into a consumer one plus the notion that revolt can do much damage to the pockets and lives of true conservative (not these namby pamby "I wanna live with Ozzie & Harriet in the 1950s again, weeee!" fluffbag fakers) would-be Divinity annointed Kings (remember when Royal Lineage was the ONLY inalienable God given right?) has allowed for this amazing magic you attribute soley to Captialsm even tho that is merely the engine to exploit commodities with for maximum profit while Socialist styled goverment policies utilize tax revenue in a manner tailored to suit citizenry at all levels from corporate to goverment to private.

Any questions? Go read a book, you trigger happy (see what I did there?) flatulating myopic bucket of ignorant obtuse piss. Maybe you can find a retort you can copypaste, you big crybaby.

See any typos? You can suck on that too.

I've set the poor lad on meltdown mode since originally posting what's in my reposts here. Further inflicting reality upon him may disrupt his world beyond repair.

Just kidding, it won't. Truth, even after 40 years ripening, is irrelevent in his fantasy land.

I find the idea of ubi interesting.
and there are parallels with both friedman and yang, altough that is not why I posted about ubi.

most are unaware of friedmans idea.
kind of like how most who adhere to randian objectivism are wholly unaware that philosophy is the basis of the church of satan.

good on you mate.
