We're all afraid of something

deep open water really unnerves me. I can be on a boat, and i can swim no problem, but there's no way i'd ever jump in! The fact that the biggest known animals in the world could be right under me and I'd never know it creeps me out.

In hindsight i don't suppose that's really an "irrational" fear though...

Lol, I think that's a very reasonable fear. I'm afraid of water myself on account of nearly drowning when I was a kid. The sea is not to be taking lightly at all.

I know it's ridiculous, but I can't get change my clothes in front of photographs or posters with people in them because it makes me feel like I'm being watched.

Needles. HATE THEM! I can't watch someone else getting a shot.

A lot of people seem to have a needle phobia. I don't mind them at all 🤔

Wasps. I hate them. They are worst part of the summer for me.

It's better just to kill them.

Snakes, sharks, the dark.

Luckily there are no snakes where I come from so I don't have to be afraid of those. I actually like the dark, but sharks I could understand.

Mentally taxing... couldn't get comfortable breathing under water

I don't think I'd ever be brave enough to try scuba diving.

I got over a fear of swimming by taking a class & learning to swim. So It's not the water for me ..i love water sports, beaches etc. But 4 me I instinctively held my breath under water... It was weird like my mind was saying .... Lol

Well, it's just that in the middle of the dark, my brain decides that it's the perfect time to remind me of all those horrific stories I've read (for some reason because I don't like horror)

But.... doesn't that mean they only exist in Brazil?

You'd think so, but every once in a while one of these guys slip through the screening process and end up being exported to the US.

Claustrophobia and heights I don't do, legit fear. Pot holing activity sounds like the worse thing EVERRRR

Vertigo is a natural human thing (though I thought people got it by looking down, not up).

I also have a slight fear of heights. I can take being high up, I just can't look down or get near the railing because I'm afraid I'll fall. Another case is one tie I went down an escalator on the top floor of the mall, and it was so open I was almost too afraid to go down

I work on a ship canal and have have to work at heights and I swear I feel the same if I'm on the edge (windy) looking down gets me, but yeah, looking up has the same effect but in reverse, We have sky scrapers in Manchester, when I was a kid I looked up and went on a dizzy one, I have to be stood close to the building though to feel it. It is common i believe

All the fears you listed are common cases, actually.

For some reason I was able to be on the edge of a tall, windy ship and was not scared of falling into the water... Maybe I was too amazed to be scared.

I guess I am rational in the fear department then.

Barriers help a lot for me because like you I know If I fall then its instant death. Base Jumping and even bungee I couldn't do it man, no wayz

I don't understand how people have fun with bungee jumping. It's you, strapped to a single cord, being dropped from such a height, that can break every single bone in your body if it fails.

And Skydiving? NUH-UH, NO WAY, NEVER EVER.
