Seriously! Have you ever tried to get extra napkins at a Chinese restaurant? It's like pulling teeth!

It's not just the chinese places, all restaurants are stingy it seems. The thing I don't get is you can go to someplace like McD's and get all the napkins you want out of the napkin holder, why shouldn't other restaurants do the same? Charge me an extra quarter for cryin' out loud if it's that big of a deal.

There are two Chinese all-you-can-eat buffets near me where they have napkins in napkin holders right there on the tables! Sure, the napkins are small and most-likely recycled. But hey, we can use as many as we need! But the regular Chinese restaurants?? Not in this lifetime! lol

And yes, I agree. There are many non-Chinese restaurants where we have to practically BRIBE the waiter for extra napkins! lol

EVERY restaurant I ever waited tables for was crazy strict about us handing things out. ESPECIALLY Red Lobster! That manager would be on us like white on rice for giving extra napkins, straws, extra condiments so forth and so on. If the customer asks why shouldn't we oblige? I mean really!

I understand they like to keep costs down, but I do not think refusing to provide basics to customers is the way to do it.

You would be surprised at how they cut corners. It blows me away. I used to make the dough for Pizza Hut. The guy who trained me insisted that we should short each dough ball by several grams in order to "save cost". I never shorted mine when the job was handed over to me. And the regional manager always said I had the best looking dough in the region. I would think better products and service would equal more profit. But what do I know. I'm just a simple woman.

Speaking of which, the last pizza I ordered was SO THIN, I swear if I tried I could slide it through the crack of a closed door! LOL! Don't get me wrong. I'm a proponent of thinner pizzas because I basically like the toppings. But come on!

Well, it was likely the pizza place cheaping out on you! I love a thin crust because I also just prefer the toppings. I feel annoyed when I get cheated!
