We have owned guns for a few hundred years, and we did not have people going on shooting sprees. I say it has to be these meds so many people seem to be taking. Look at the side effects. It blows me away that this aspect is being ignored.

IT DOESN'T MATTER the color of the background. Your comment is what's wrong with this country today. Always trying to point out the race, and always missing the actual point. It could have been a white background, and u still wouldn't have been satisfied. But it's not about your satisfaction, it's about what the point of the meme is. And YOU clearly missed it.

This is just a snippet of a good debate on the subject, but I encourage you to watch it in full

8% of the population is responsible for half of all violent crime in America. Guess who that 8% is

It doesn't matter what the 8% is, every race is responsible for killing someone. Every race has killed someone before. You're missing the actual point right now. I'm going to stop entertaining your comments. :)

IQ and tendency to violence are correlated. On average, people who grew up with both parents around have higher IQ. 72% of black kids grow up in a single parent household - compare that to the national average of 25%. That's a big indication that the problem starts at home during childhood. You're assuming I'm blaming black people because they're black - I blame the leftist policies that incentivized single parent households with welfare to deliberately destroy black families leaving several generations of black men without adequate male role models. These are tough questions, don't let your fear of being called racist keep you from asking them.

I'm not saying that black people aren't more likely to shoot people, because hell yeah! we are, which is not a good thing. I'm just saying that the meme didn't have anything to do with color. I wondered why you would bring up the color of the background, when in reality that doesn't matter. The color of someone's skin does not justify there bad actions, but the fact that they're human does. However, just because they are human, does not mean they get off with doing vile things. In both communities, there is a thing called colorism, which is not the actual term for it, but it's when your race talks about their own race. Being a black person, I can tell you firsthand that we do this all the time. Not me per se, but black people in general. They like to make fun of the fact that other people are darker then other people. When in reality, they need to ask themselves if that truly matters. I've also heard that white people talk about how "light" a person's skin tone in comparison to there's. Both are extremely wrong, but in one race particular (black) there are more deaths resulting from it. Obviously, some deaths are just from pure hatred, but some are triggered by black people just killing other black people. And it's not right, both sides. Both need protection, not from guns, but from the environment that influences their mentality.

Ever watch Dog the Bounty Hunter? Ever notice who most of who he's going after is? Native Hawaiians, who incidentally make up the bulk of the poor folks there.

The issue is not so much race but poverty. Every place has people stuck in the lower rungs of the social heirarchy. The distinction at its root might be racial or ethnic, or just a traditional caste. Those people span generations pf poverty, are involved in more crime, and have the lowest IQs. When they move to other countries minus the stigma they are mired in, this changes. IQs even go up, not just with their children, but the immigrants themselves to some degree.

I think I'm a lil older than you. Racial humor is, and always will be, hilarious to me. Never heard of black on black violence based on the shade of black though - that's messed up.

Every country has people who have that same variation in mentality.

You know what they DON'T get in every country?

What does the country have to with anything? Republicans could issue background checks, and people could still snap. Democrats could issue gun control, and people would no longer be able to defend themselves, and we would be like Europe. The purpose of having a gun should be to protect people, but people ABUSE that privilege and instead use it to shoot and kill and people. It's all about their state of mind.

Make no mistake: Europe is at an ADVANTAGE over us in this regard. They have people with terrible states of mind and yet no mass shootings.

I learned liberal logic from Octavia.
Death is only death at the end of a gun barrel. Everything else is just an imitation.

Are you completely ignoring the number of shootings and terrorist attacks they have per day? Or are you saving that for later? Also, I didn't even mention mass shootings, I referred to guns in general. Europe thought it was a grand idea to open their borders, and now there crime rate and terrorist attack rate is up the roof.

It's really not. When I was a kid, I remember that Europe would experience a major terrorist attack in some form about twice a year. Now, Europe experiences a terrorist attack about twice a year. No real change.

But the United States' experience of public killing sprees has accelerated in the last five to ten years and that is a fact. And that IS just the United States. So it CANNOT be the state of mind of the perpetrator because the UK and Canada and Australia and Ireland has that too but they do not have our problem.

Twice a year, By who's count, Yours or reality?
Killing sprees have accelerated in the US.
Guns have remained constant since America was founded.
The state of mind has changed.
Cite the UK Canada and Australia all you want, Mass murders have gone up in every country. The weapons used may be different, Mass murder is still mass murder.
